This project is protecting a community water source in a village in Uganda.Safe and acceptable water for human consumption that is available in sufficient quantity, physically accessible and affordable is a crucial prerequisite for human wellbeing. Access to safe water is not only fundamental to good health but also to satisfactory livelihoods, dignity and prospects for economic growth and education.
Children collect water that has flowed through waste-filled gutters. Community leaders say at least one child dies from diarrhoea in the village annually. The lack of access to sufficient amounts of safe water leads to human suffering and to loss of human potential which is ethically indefensible as well as economically wasteful.
This projects will maintain a spring water source in a village of 300 people in Mpigi village in Uganda, the new water source will provide distilled, safe and clean pipe water for the community
The community will enjoy clean and safe water, this community has also mobilized some local contribution like stones and wheel barrows to be used during the water source protection.
