Since our last update, the Community Development Foundation (CDF) has successfully scaled the "Cool Water Initiative" from a pilot project into a lasting foundation for school safety in Jacobabad. Throughout early 2026, we focused on making our 10 climate-resilient mud water containers a permanent part of daily school life. What started as an emergency response to extreme heat has now evolved into a community-led success story, protecting children during the earliest and harshest heatwaves.

The most inspiring progress comes from the local community itself. The partner schools have completely taken ownership of this initiative, maintaining, cleaning, and refilling the traditional cooling containers every single day. Thanks to your support, almost 2,500 girls are now benefiting from safe, naturally chilled drinking water—a milestone that has sustained itself continuously for over a year since installation. School management and student committees ensure these stations remain hygienic and fully operational without needing outside interventions.

Meet 11-year-old Muskan, a fifth-grader who used to dread the sweltering heat in her classroom. "Before the water pots were installed, many of my classmates would get dizzy or leave early because the heat made us feel ill," Muskan shares. "Now, we always have cold, clean water right outside our classroom. It keeps us refreshed, and my friends don't miss school anymore during the hottest months." Muskan is just one of 2,500 young girls whose education and health are safer today because you chose to give.

As we look ahead, CDF will continue conducting routine quality checks and supporting student-led water committees to ensure these systems thrive for years to come. Your generosity did not just fund water containers—it gave thousands of young girls the protection, dignity, and clean drinking water they need to stay in school and build brighter futures. Thank you for making this lasting impact possible!
