This project provides fourteen full university scholarships (undergraduate programs) to young underprivileged students who graduated from our school and have been affected directly or indirectly by the Liberian civil war, Ebola, and extreme poverty and who otherwise would not be able to afford their schooling. It is our hope that through this project, we train these youths to become teachers and will come back to our school to help provide quality education to other underprivileged students.
Due to financial constraints and poverty, 95 percent of the students who enrolled in our educational program end up on the street as street vendors. Without a university education, these young people missed job opportunities, potential growth, and experiences, and as a result, thousands of end up on the street and getting involved in harmful activities and cannot alter the fabric of our society better. Young people have great potential that needs to be developed to benefit them and society.
Vision Awake Africa for Development is a not-for-profit, the organization is passionate and committed to providing education to less privileged children and youth in society especially those who lost their parents to the civil war, Ebola, HIV, and living in extreme poverty. This project has secured $10,092.00 which the donor will express over six semesters, $1700.00 per semester. This project will help train educators whose capacities will be built to play major roles in society.
The youth are great access when educated into the job market, instead of getting involved in those things that affect society negatively, they will play a significant impact on society that will bring about development and growth and free of crime society. After the completion of their educational training, these youth will come back to teachers, and train other less privileged students in our school to build a better society and economic growth.
