Anaweza Update - May 2026

Greetings all,
The Anaweza team has been busy at work this year planning for our second official Anaweza Camp in Kenya this coming August. Along with the core Anaweza team, we will be bringing several volunteers from the US to Kenya to help run the week long experience for our scholars. The camp will include time to network with their fellow scholars, opportunity to get to know the US team, learn about personal finance, have some friendly competition in the form of a volleyball tournament, and much much more. We are all very excited to head back to Kenya and see the wonderful progress our scholars have made both academically and as young adults. This camp is shaping up to be an even bigger success then the first time around and we look forward to many more to come in the near future. Thank you again to all of our supporters. The impact your contributions make is enormous and we are forever grateful for your support.

Anaweza Update - January 2026

Greetings,
The main update from the Anaweza team revolves around two events – one completed and one upcoming. We successfully hosted our second annual Anaweza Game Night in January where we exceeded our previous year’s attendance by almost double! It was a wonderful opportunity for our team to engage with new individuals and tell our story while enjoying fun activities with the group.
Our second big announcement is that we are hosting our second Anaweza Camp for all of our scholars in Kenya this coming August. It will serve as a reunion with previous volunteers and as an introduction to many new volunteers that will join us to connect firsthand with the children that we serve. We will continue to build this wonderful community and use this camp as an example of how far we have come in our mission as well as a milestone marker in the ongoing journey forward.
As we always say in these reports on our progress, Anaweza is a movement—a movement to uplift, empower, and transform. With continued support and unwavering faith, Anaweza will shine as a beacon of hope, proving that through education, dreams can indeed come true.

Anaweza Update - October 2025

Greetings,
Anaweza has recently had the pleasure of graduating some of our first scholars from college and university programs. This marks a full circle moment from the start of our program meeting these children in primary school until now. They will continue as part of the Anaweza family to set leadership examples in their community and build strong professional networks in their chosen fields. Additionally, the team will strongly encourage continued mentorship for the next generation of scholars as we grow the program into the future.
As previously mentioned in our June report, we planned and hosted another successful event - this one for Children's Day 2025. We enjoyed a wonderful turnout of donors and first time attendees for a day of learning and collaborative activities that brought smiles out of all who participated.
Through the end of the year, the Anaweza team will work diligently to raise funds, introduce our mission to new people, and most importantly - support our scholars through their educational journey and beyond.
