Hello from Shining Light School!
Last week five volunteers, includig 2 board members, made the 45 minute boat ride to visit the students. Our mission was to deliver workbooks to the school. We were able to deliver 1,471 workbooks and excitement was felt by everyone! These works books were divided by subject, grade and based on the curriculum given by the Nigerian government. Some of the notebooks were donated, and the rest were purchsed by our foundation. The students were so happy and overwhelmed with the delivery!
The volunteers helped John and Lady Salami distribute the books to each class, and the official school stamp was marked in each book. We are continuing to focus on the education provided to the students by the teachers at Shining Light School. This is one more step we took to help ensure the students are receiving what they need.
Volunteers also handed out some biscuits to the students, as well as some candies. One of our board memebers collected various food items that we also took to the school.
We are so grateful and want to say THANK YOU for the generosity we continue to receive in kind and in donations. It's with your continued support we are able to help these students in a rural Nigerian village receive an education!
