At Direct Impact Empowerment Foundation, June 2026 has been a month of significant activity across both our humanitarian response and our digital empowerment programmes.
Since launching our Sponsor a Nigerian Woman into a Tech Career project on GlobalGiving, we have been actively building awareness across our networks in Switzerland, Nigeria and the wider diaspora community. Our founder Femi Adeyemo represented DIEF at the UNOG NGO Liaison Office Global Empowerment and Inclusion Summit in Geneva in May 2026, strengthening our international partnerships and advocacy voice.
On the ground in Ibadan, Nigeria, our co-founder and in-country CEO Reuben Eka continues to lead our Dignity to Independence Programme, which has now reached over 300 people since Christmas 2023 at approximately $200 per participant.
We have also been leading a vocal advocacy campaign - Bring Them Home - for the 46 children and teachers kidnapped from a primary school in Ogbomosho, Oyo State on 15 May 2026. DIEF believes that empowerment and child protection are inseparable from our mission.
Every donation to this project directly sponsors a Nigerian woman into a tech career, giving her skills, income and independence. Thank you for standing with us.
Project reports on GlobalGiving are posted directly to globalgiving.org by Project Leaders as they are completed, generally every 3-4 months. To protect the integrity of these documents, GlobalGiving does not alter them; therefore you may find some language or formatting issues.
