Introduction
The Sponsor a Needy Child at Kasese Humanist School project continues to make a meaningful difference in the lives of vulnerable children in our community. We are delighted to report that 100 children are currently benefiting directly from the project.
Through the generosity of our supporters, the project has now raised more than US$10,000. We are deeply grateful to every donor and especially pleased to have increased our recurring donors to four, providing much-needed stability for the children we support.
Aims and Objectives
The project aims to:
Our Current Progress
The funds received have enabled us to achieve several important milestones:
Sustainability Plan
We recognize that long-term support cannot depend entirely on donations. We are therefore working to build sustainable initiatives, including:
1. Goat Project: Expanding goat rearing to generate future income for supporting children's education and welfare.
2. Food production: Increasing the cultivation of beans, maize and other food crops to reduce school food costs.
3. Recurring donations: Encouraging more supporters to make regular monthly contributions.
4. Community participation: Engaging families and the local community in food production and school sustainability activities.
5. Diversified fundraising: Reaching out to individuals, foundations, charitable organizations and responsible philanthropic partners.
Challenges
Despite the progress achieved, the need remains much greater than the resources currently available. Major challenges include:
Our Request to Supporters
We kindly appeal to our existing and potential supporters to continue standing with these children. Every donation, whether large or small, helps keep a child in school and gives them an opportunity for a better future.
We particularly encourage supporters to consider becoming recurring donors. Regular monthly support enables us to plan ahead, respond to urgent needs and provide greater security for vulnerable children.
We also welcome support for our Goat Project and food-security initiatives, which are important components of our long-term sustainability strategy.
Conclusion
We are extremely grateful for the generosity and trust of our GlobalGiving supporters. Raising more than US$10,000 and increasing our recurring donors to four is a significant achievement for our school community.
Most importantly, the support is translating into real improvements in children's lives—from school supplies and uniforms to meals, educational assistance and sustainable livelihood initiatives.
Together, we are keeping vulnerable children in school, improving their wellbeing and building a more secure future for them.
Thank you for believing in our children and for standing with Kasese Humanist School.
