Despite free primary schooling in Tanzania, thousands of children cannot attend due to hidden costs-food, uniforms, shoes, stationery and exam fees. Chronic hunger undermines focus and fuels absenteeism. Long walks to distant schools and pressure to contribute to household income pull many out of class. Orphans and children in single-parent homes lack the emotional and material support needed to stay enrolled, resulting in high dropouts and poor academic outcomes
By providing holistic sponsorships, covering tuition and exam fees, uniforms, shoes, textbooks, and daily meals, the project removes the hidden costs that block attendance and combats hunger. Distributing supplies each term and offering optional bicycles eases travel burdens. Regular health check-ups and one-on-one mentorship deliver emotional support. Quarterly school visits, attendance tracking, and community meetings ensure ongoing retention and academic progress.
Continuous education and support lead sponsored children to graduate with strong literacy, critical thinking, and life skills, boosting secondary and tertiary enrollment.
