The Andreas Home Foundation offers housing, food and transportation to low income pediatric cancer patients that come to Barranquilla to receive treatment. Through this program people can sponsor a room at our home and contribute financially to the housing of a child with his / her guardian as we ensure they complete the treatment. The house is a 718mt2 building equipped with a playroom, kitchen, dining room, infirmary and backyard; up to date weve received 164 families.
ACCESSIBLE TREATMENTS FOR EVERYONE The number one mortality cause in childhood cancer patients of the Colombian Atlantic Coast is the abandonment of the treatment. This is triggered by the numerous barriers that hinder the access to the hospitals where families and their children attend for medical procedures.
Fundacion Andrea y Vanessa is a private, independent and non profit organization that aims to eliminate these obstacles and fulfill the needs of these deprived populations. We offer lodging, food and transportation at no cost to families with low incomes during this hard process.
The house has a capacity for 32 people and hosts families from remote villages of the Caribbean Colombian Region, 356 days a year working with the purpose of reducing the treatment abandonment rate by providing an integral support.
