The impact of rains and floods in Pernambuco left around 90,000 families in a critical situation in several cities in Pernambuco and exposed a dramatic scenario for the most vulnerable population in the state. Faced with this situation, Aldeias Infantis SOS Brasil promoted an emergency campaign to support affected families in the state.
With the support of our generous donors through GlobalGiving and partner companies in Brazil, it was possible to donate 160 food baskets, reaching 640 people in high social vulnerability in the cities of Igarassu and Araçoiaba.
This is the testimony of a person who lost everything during the flood and who received our support:
"At dawn the water rose, when we realized there was no time to save the furniture and my daughter was panicked when she saw the water level. She went out asking the neighbors for help. Unfortunately they were unable to save the food in our house and the basket offered for Children's Villages ensured the families' food on such difficult days." C.B.F.
Thank you for participating in this campaign and helping families who were victims of heavy rains and floods in Pernambuco - Brazil.
