It has been a year that an unseen enemy rocked our lives -- COVID 19! It has been a year that we closed our doors to do our share in fighting this virus from spreading. It has been a year that we have been missing our students. Though classes have been done online, the university is still faced with a financial dilemna. Letting go of redundant workers was not in the plan but it had to be done. Such was a cost saving measure at this time where we are not getting full enrolment.
This solar project has bought the university partial solar panels and equipments to cover 40 percent of the whole university area by far. It has been able to generate 80% savings on electricity bills since the year 2020 in the areas where it supplies. Savings from the solar energy from lowered electricity costs has paid the salaries for faculty and staff to keep the university in operations.
It is still the goal of the university to continue its positive approach for funding thorugh GlobalGiving to realize the 60 percent yet to be completed while contributing to the reduction of the earth's carbon footprint at the same time.
