We are pleased to inform you, that after the activities, as we wrote in a previous report, we made a lot of things at Hello Café.
With your support, our Café reached one more goal – we helped the local farmers and women to receive an additional income.
We made a special store for Ikorta Enamel Jewelry and for handicrafts which are made by the IDP people in Tserovani. Now people can buy things like honey, handmade boxes, traditional jewelry, traditional handicrafts, etc. It is an additional income for local farmers. It really works.
Every week Hello Café hosts different kind of events in order to support IDP youth’s educational development. We had seminars about early marriage. We screen movies and have discussions after. We also host cultural events, which help youth to improve their knowledge about multicultural difference.
We are pleased to inform you that on this Friday, May 1st, Social Enterprise Café “Hello Café” is opening in Tserovani IDP settlement. A collection by photographer, Thoma Sukhashvili, is on display and our seasonal menu features both traditional Georgian and international dishes.
The realization of this project would not have been possible without your support, so we want to share the celebration of our grand opening with you.
If you are able to join us on Friday, or if you would like to visit us another day, we will always be happy to host you. #55 Row 13 Tserovani IDP Settlement Open: 11:00 - 23:00
Thanks to early donations, we have already started work on our cafe and employment center!
With the help of volunteers, the space has gotten a fresh coat of paint and a neighbor dropped by with snacks while we worked. Other community members have dropped off donated items for the cafe, including a piano, books, chairs, and dishes. For Better Future also hired a local carpenter to build a custom coffee bar and kitchen cabinets.
The support and excitement from the Tserovani community is incredibly encouraging. We hope to open the cafe this month, with the employment center following as soon as we meet our fundraising goal.
