The Development Action for Women Network (DAWN) has been gaining recognition for its holistic approach to reintegration of women migrant returnees, survivors of gender-based violence and trafficking and members of their families.
DAWN was invited to several trade fairs and bazaars to showcase the SIKHAY products made by our women migrant returnees, survivors of gender-based violence and trafficking and members of their families. The latest of which was during the Women’s Month Reception of the British Embassy Manila on March 21, 2024 at the British Ambassador’s Residence. DAWN is one of two exhibitors at the said event to highlight its advocacy of uplifting the lives of women through alternative livelihood.
On March 22, 2024, DAWN had initial discussions with the National Reintegration Center for OFWs (NRCO) for collaboration. Among these initiatives are on providing psychosocial and economic interventions to distressed women migrant returnees referred by NRCO.
DAWN has been preparing from January to March 2024 for its forthcoming project with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE). Under the DOLE Integrated Livelihood Program (DILP), DAWN will provide training cum production on sewing and handloom weaving to 60 women migrant returnees, survivors of gender-based violence and trafficking and members of their families. This project will start on April 2024.
