DAWN's Holistic Approach to Assist Women

By Carmelita G. Nuqui | Executive Director

Skills Training on Sewing and Handloom Weaving
Skills Training on Sewing and Handloom Weaving

The Development Action for Women Network (DAWN) provided the holistic approach to reintegration to women migrant returnees and members of their families. Skills training on basic sewing and handloom weaving were provided by Ms. Marife Patiño and Ms. Maria Fe Torrea. Both women joined prior skills trainings of DAWN. Through this practice, we are empowering women to train other women and thus share this sustainable practice of women empowering other women.

DAWN also conducted a series of workshops for women migrant returnees, survivors of gender-based violence and members of their families from October to November 2024. Topics discussed include gender-based violence, trafficking, entrepreneurial mind setting, mindfulness and laughter yoga.
