Raising the Safety Bar-A Case Conference at a time

We hold a firm belief that no child should fall through the cracks of an overwhelmed system. Every case of abuse, neglect, or exploitation is more than just a statistic—it’s a life that needs urgent, coordinated support. That’s why we’ve made Case Conferences a cornerstone of our approach to case management.

These forums bring together all the key service providers handling a child’s case—social workers, law enforcement, medical professionals, legal aid teams, and psychologists—to review progress, tackle challenges, and ensure the best possible outcomes for every child. They aren’t just meetings; they are accountability sessions where no case is left behind.

So far this year, we have facilitated 9 Case Conferences across seven counties, discussing over 135 cases of children in need. These conferences have directly contributed to:
Faster case resolution as service providers collaborate to overcome delays and bureaucratic hurdles.
Better childhood outcomes when children receive timely interventions, from legal support to medical care and trauma counseling.
System-wide improvement by setting a high standard for case management thus influencing how service providers handle all child protection cases, not just those reported through the National Child Helpline 116 service.

A Child’s Second Chance at a Safer Future

Take the story of Amara (not her real name), a 10-year-old girl rescued from domestic servitude. Before the case conference, her case had stalled due to lack of clarity about who should take responsibility at different points of response. The case once reported to the helpline was presented at one of the case conferences. After the forum, decisions were made swiftly—she was placed in a safe home, given counseling, and her abuser was arrested for prosecution. Today, she’s back in school, embracing a future she never thought possible.

Why Your Support Matters

These case conferences wouldn’t be possible without the generosity of donors like you. Your support ensures that service providers stay accountable, responsive, and child-focused. Every case discussed, every delay overcome, and every service improved is a direct result of your belief in a safer future for Kenya’s children.

Together, we are not just saving lives—we are transforming the entire child protection system. And that’s the kind of impact that lasts for generations.

Thank you for making better childhoods possible!
