The quake affected many districts of mountainous area. Kavrepalanchok district was also badly affected by the aftershock of the quake. All the wards of five municipalities and seventy five VDCs of Kavrepalanchok district were badly affected. It caused 318 casualties and 1179 injuries. 49933 households were entirely damaged and 23714 households were partially damaged.
Civic Forum for Sustainable Development (CIVIC FORUM), an organization registered in Kavrepalanchok has supported fifty households of earthquake survivors to construct the shelter in Banakhu VDC in Kavrepalanchok in support with Global Giving Foundation for fund collection. The details of the accomplished activities are as follows:
After the agreement with Global Giving Foundation, Civic Forum for Sustainable Development, the meeting of the executive committee decided to give the responsibility of buying coagulated galvanized iron (CGI) sheets to the purchase Committee of the organization. The committee purchased 75 (seventy-five) bundle of coagulated galvanized iron (CGI) sheet from the local market as mentioned in project one as well.
After the activities, the ones we have helped are living a comfortable life. They have been provided with temporary weather-proof accommodation, allowing them to resume their normal economic activities such as farming and animal husbandry. However, they want permanent houses to live in as the temporary houses will not be able to hold very long. They are in need of permanent houses for a lifetime.
