Q4 2025 – GlobalGiving Project UpdateShelter Services for Women and Children Affected by Violence

During the reporting period, our project continued to provide temporary shelter and comprehensive support to women and children affected by domestic and gender-based violence.

In Q4 2025, shelter services were provided to:

  • 16 women who survived domestic or gender-based violence;

  • 20 children who stayed together with their mothers.

Among the beneficiaries:

  • 3 women and 5 children were internally displaced persons (IDPs);

  • 2 large families required additional social and adaptation support.

All shelter residents were provided with safe and dignified living conditions, including accommodation, meals, hygiene supplies, and essential household items. Beneficiaries also had access to social, medical, and legal services, ensuring a holistic and survivor-centered response.

Social Case Management and Reintegration Support

Throughout the quarter:

  • 8 new individual cases were opened;

  • Case management for women supported in previous periods was continued;

  • 192 consultations were delivered by social workers.

Individual case management focused on:

  • assessment of personal circumstances, needs, and available resources;

  • motivation for change and empowerment in decision-making;

  • development and implementation of individualized crisis exit plans;

  • guidance on social protection, benefits, housing, and access to services;

  • psychological and emotional support;

  • assistance with document recovery, medical certificates, and school enrollment for children;

  • facilitation of legal aid and representation before public institutions;

  • support with daily living adaptation and referrals to specialized services;

  • employment support and development of social and life skills.

Psychological Support for Women and Children

Mental health support remained a critical component of the project. During Q4, the psychologist delivered:

  • 93 individual counseling sessions for women;

  • 16 group sessions for women;

  • 27 group sessions for children.

Key focus areas included:

  • recovery from traumatic experiences;

  • management of anxiety, fear, and depressive symptoms;

  • strengthening self-esteem and personal resilience;

  • safety planning and risk awareness;

  • art-therapy and creative expression;

  • psychoeducation and stabilization techniques;

  • development of healthy coping and conflict-management strategies.

Child-Focused Psychosocial Support

A social pedagogue conducted:

  • 177 individual sessions with children;

  • 96 group activities.

These activities aimed to provide:

  • psycho-emotional support and stabilization;

  • safe expression of emotions through play, drawing, and dialogue;

  • educational support and learning continuity;

  • development of emotional intelligence and communication skills;

  • anxiety reduction and behavioral stabilization;

  • a predictable and safe environment essential for recovery.

Work with parents included observation of parent-child interactions, tailored recommendations, and joint activities to help restore emotional bonds and a sense of security.

Commitment Despite Funding Challenges

Although we were unable to raise the full funding target during this period, our team continued providing essential services to women and children in crisis. We made this possible through careful prioritization of resources, staff dedication, and strong partnerships.

We remain fully committed to our mission and continue working to support survivors, while actively seeking additional funding to sustain and expand these life-saving services. Every contribution—past and future—directly strengthens safety, recovery, and long-term resilience for women and children affected by violence.
