Dear friends,
“It is exciting to anticipate the change ahead in the lives and families of the girls and young women in our community,” says Gloria Sandilen, S.E.W. project leader in Arusha. “I am eager to have the Training Centre nearly complete so that I can begin recruiting a new group of girls and young women to be trained.”
Construction on the sewing classrooms continues to make headway due to the generous support of Global Giving donors, other US donors, and Tanzanians involved in the project. As you can see in the photos, security doors and windows have been installed and the Training Centre now has a roof. The community is very proud of the Centre and its progress. It was even included in the itinerary of a cultural tour for a group of visitors from the US.
There is still quite a bit to do to complete the construction and make it ready for actual use. There’s electricity, plumbing, painting, interior finishes, furniture and equipment to be done or purchased. Your generous support makes this all possible and helps undereducated, unemployed girls and young women change their lives and improve the health and well-being of their children and community.
