Communities Acceptance of Prisoner's Children

Since eight years PAM has been trying to build a Community Sports and Resource Centre in its premise. Because of municipality requirements land at PAM had not enough space to build. So it bought a piece of land adjacent to it for building the centre. It made design and estimate from the designing company which would cost about $ 200,000.00. It formed a construction committee to raise fund. Almost after six years it has been able to raise enough fund $160,000.00 to build structure only. It decided to start construction and continue looking for fund raising. Construction work is contracted to a company by bidding process, Foundation stone was laid by worshipping land by the Mayor, Vice President of the Nepal Judo Association, Ward Chairman. and Member Secretary of the Nepal Child Welafre Council. The Mayos announced to support fund rasing from his side also. Construction will be completed in 8/9 months and it is expected to run smoothly by next year. Photographs of the even are included.

11 new chlidren are rescued from the various prisons. Six have joined their family with jobs. Now it has 32 children 16 girls and 16 boys. 25 children from communities are having judp training regularly. Four children from the Everest Judo Club and one child from Dharan also taking judo training. 11 children received the black belts; four children became qualified as judo coach and three as judo trainers. 

Roof top gardening is continuing. As all the lands have been disrupted by the construction agriculture work has to be stopped except in roof top gardening. However there is lack of water for irrigation. So drip irrigation will be used. Urine manure is being collected. There is plan to start hydroponics after the completion of the construction. Systematic land use planning and training for communities will be done regularly with proper planning.

PAM has to give farewell to four PAM children who has been 18+ or completed 12th grade. They are with the family but they are still in contact. It also recruited eight new children rescued from the various jailas. There is request to recruit more children from various prisons. But for now its capacity is full. 

A new Judo Hall will be construcyed within a year or so. Because the present hall is small which can bearly accommodate 25 players. PAM is running two shifts. One of Pam"s graduate played a game in Japan. She is selected as a wild card to participate in the coming Olympic. She will soon go abroad for training, probably in Japan.

Roff top gardening is going well. plastic mulching and tunnel is successful. PAM agriculture person conducted a training for communities. He is planning to have consultation with the communities about their needs.

The main thing is once new Judo Hall is built, library and gym also will be regular. Beacuse Judo Hall also have facilities for them. So it is going to be the final preparation for expanding communities reach. For the agriculture demonstration, roof top gardening, tunnel farming, plastic mulching, drip irrigation, liquid manure, etc. are prepared. Once they are ready communities are invited for traing. 

Four PAM children went to Bangkok for Judo games, 11 children (including four children from communities) participated in National Games and all of them gor medals). 11 Families clebrated birthdays with PAM children.
