Forum for African Women Educationalists - Zimbabwe is the global partner for Design for Change : the largest child centered design thinking program in the world. It cultivates the I Can mindset in Children. Annually, DFC hosts the largest summit for children worldwide to showcase their innovative stories of change at a global platform. FAWEZI wants to ensure 2025,learners and teachers from Zimbabwe participate and share their I Can Stories and experiences learn from other countries in Japan.
Children are often left out from critical platform's that design solution to their problems. Child led solutions to social and academic challenges are not effective when developed by adults . The voices of marginalized girls and boys seldom reach the advocacy planforms and decision making tables. Most learners who lack exposure to the internet, media and public platforms are passive /shy to speak out on challenges and also can not contribute to innovative solutions.
By ensuring Zimbabwean children are represented at the largest global children's summit to date, the world can begin to see the brilliance of the African Child. Involving children in decision-making processes is essential for developing effective solutions to their social and academic challenges. Their participation empowers them, fosters confidence, and ensures their unique perspectives are heard. With firsthand experience children can offer relevant and practical solutions that adults overlook
If 3 students and 2 teachers attend, they will have the opportunity to be on a world stage, and remind people that Zimbabwe is capable . The number of African children represented will drastically increase and it will be life changing and inspiring for them and their communities. A generation of confident, engaged citizens who are better equipped to address social and academic challenges will be cultivated. The children and teachers will value collaboration and innovation in their communities.
