Keeping the Momentum : The Journey Continues

By Wendy T Muzite | Project Assistant

Dearest Friends of FAWEZI

We hope this message finds you well. It is always a joy to reconnect with you and share the progress of our Design for Change (DFC) journey in Zimbabwe. Your encouragement, friendship, and belief in the power of young people continue to inspire us, and we remain deeply grateful for your unwavering support.

As preparations for the upcoming DFC Global Summit in Greece continue, we remain optimistic that Zimbabwe will be represented. Our learners are eagerly looking forward to the opportunity to share their remarkable innovations and "I Can" stories with fellow young changemakers from around the world. Their projects reflect not only creativity and innovation but also resilience, empathy, and a genuine commitment to solving challenges within their communities. We are hopeful that these inspiring young voices will have the opportunity to shine on the global stage.

Alongside these preparations, we continue to expand the DFC movement by engaging more schools across Zimbabwe. Our goal is to provide even more children with the opportunity to embrace the Design for Change methodology, develop solutions to challenges within their schools and communities, and grow as confident leaders and innovators.

To make this vision a reality, we have intensified our resource mobilisation efforts. We are actively developing funding proposals and engaging with potential partners to secure the support needed for learner participation at the Global Summit, as well as for the continued growth of the DFC programme in Zimbabwe. Our immediate aspiration is to raise sufficient resources to enable at least three learners and two teachers to attend the summit, providing them with the opportunity to proudly represent Zimbabwe, share their innovations, and learn alongside fellow young changemakers from around the world. We firmly believe that every contribution, whether through financial support, strategic partnerships, or connecting us with potential donors, brings us one step closer to ensuring that Zimbabwe's young changemakers have the platform they deserve.

We would be truly grateful for your continued support and encouragement during this journey. Your partnership has always been instrumental in opening doors of opportunity, and we sincerely hope that you will continue to stand with us as we work towards creating lasting opportunities for our learners. Together, we can ensure that their ideas, innovations, and voices reach a global audience and inspire change far beyond our borders.

Thank you once again for believing in our children and in the transformative power of youth-led change. Your friendship and generosity continue to bridge the gap between possibility and opportunity, empowering young people to believe that they too can make a difference.

We remain hopeful and excited about what lies ahead, and we look forward to sharing more positive news with you soon.

 With sincere gratitude and hope,

From all of us here at FAWEZI
