We hope this message finds you well. As always, it is an honour to reconnect and share an update on our journey with you. Your unwavering support continues to keep our vision alive, and we remain deeply grateful for the partnership we share.

Following our last communication, we wish to update you regarding our participation in the Design for Change (DFC) initiatives. Unfortunately, once again, we were unable to attend the recent DFC gathering in Japan this year due to financial constraints. While our physical presence was not possible, we are pleased to share that our absence did not silence our voice. We ensured that our children’s stories and experiences were submitted and shared, allowing Zimbabwean learners to participate and shine through their creativity and courage despite the distance.

Although it was difficult not to be there in person, we remain hopeful about the opportunities ahead. We now look forward to the upcoming DFC Global Summit scheduled for next year in Greece. This platform represents an invaluable opportunity for our children and educators to connect with peers across the world, celebrate their “I Can” stories, and strengthen their belief in their power to create change.

With your continued friendship and support, we trust that this dream can become a reality. We believe that together, we can ensure that our children do not miss out on yet another opportunity to step onto the global stage, to learn, to lead, and to be inspired. Your partnership has always been the bridge between their potential and their possibilities.

We hope this message finds you well. As always, we are thrilled to reconnect and share an update on our journey with you. Your continued support remains a source of strength and inspiration, and we are ever grateful for the role you play in helping us empower the next generation.

As you may recall, in our last update we highlighted the importance of giving children and teachers in Zimbabwe the opportunity to share their "I Can Stories" on global platforms through the Design for Change (DFC) initiative. Unfortunately, due to financial limitations, our team was unable to attend the 2024 DFC summit in Dubai. While this was a missed opportunity for in-person participation, we are proud to report that we still made our mark,virtually. FAWEZI facilitated the submission of impactful stories from Zimbabwean learners. We are excited to share that two of these stories were selected and showcased during the summit. Even from afar, our learners demonstrated incredible resilience, creativity, and the power of youth-led change.

Looking ahead, we now turn our focus to the upcoming 2025 DFC Children’s Global Summit in Japan. This event represents another critical opportunity for Zimbabwean learners and educators to connect with global peers, exchange ideas, and be inspired to lead change within their own communities.

We are currently in the process of mobilizing resources and remain hopeful that, with your support, we will be able to send at least three students and one teacher to participate in this transformative experience. Participation in this summit not only amplifies the voices of our learners but also reinforces their belief that they are not alone,that their ideas matter, and that they can truly be the change they want to see in the world.

FAWEZI remains committed to ensuring that these empowering platforms are accessible to every child, regardless of their background or circumstance. We continue to explore all avenues of support and partnership to make this vision a reality. Your ongoing belief in our mission has already made an incredible impact, and with your continued generosity, we know that more is possible.
