Reaching Further: Strengthening Participation

By Wendy T Muzite | Project Assistant

Our Dearest Friends,

We hope this message finds you well. It is always a pleasure to reconnect and share updates on our ongoing journey. Your continued encouragement and support remain a powerful source of inspiration for us, and we are deeply grateful for the partnership we share.

Following our previous communication, we are pleased to provide a brief update on our progress within the Design for Change (DFC) initiative. Despite the challenges we experienced in 2025, our commitment to nurturing young Zimbabwean voices remains unwavering. The stories submitted by our learners continue to reflect the creativity, compassion, and problem-solving spirit that the DFC movement celebrates worldwide.

As we look ahead, we are currently in the process of recruiting additional schools to join the DFC network in Zimbabwe. This expansion aims to broaden participation and ensure that more learners across the country have the opportunity to develop and share their “I Can” stories. By bringing new schools on board, we hope to deepen the culture of student-led change and strengthen the impact of the programme within our communities.

At the same time, we are still trying to have resource mobilisation efforts to support the participation of Zimbabwean students and educators at the upcoming DFC Global Summit scheduled to take place in Greece this November. This event presents an important opportunity for our young change-makers to connect with peers from around the world, exchange ideas, and proudly showcase the innovations and solutions they have developed within their communities.

We remain hopeful that, with your continued friendship and support, this vision will come to life. Attending the summit would not only be a milestone for the participating students but would also amplify Zimbabwe’s voice within the global DFC community.

Thank you once again for believing in our children and in the power of young people to create meaningful change. Your partnership continues to bridge the gap between dreams and opportunity.

With sincere gratitude and hope,

From us here at FAWEZI.
