Eulises at the Technical School
Eulises is 21 years old, and he is the last one of 5 siblings. For him, Barú is synonymous with smoked fried coconut rice with fish, plantain, and green salad, and not to mention the traditional snail and crab cocktail.
In 2020 he began his training as a Kitchen Technician. He was attracted to this career because of the techniques implemented. "I waited for a long time to be able to enroll, because every time I found out about the calls, there was no longer space and when I finally managed to enter to the course, the pandemic began" said Eulises.
And he continued his story by saying “during the virtual training, to connect to the classes, I had to locate myself with my cell phone in a place in the house where there was a signal. Therefore, I was very excited when two months ago they told us that we were going back de school.
What I liked the most about the workshops we did were the types of cuts and cooking terms of the meats. Now I am focused on starting my internship and I imagine it as a unique experience, where I will be able to demonstrate everything I have learned and also learn new things from other Chefs.
Meanwhile, to practice and not forget the techniques, I prepare meals to my family and they have congratulated me on the taste; they say the taste is different from the foods they usually eat for lunch or dinner. The trick is the way we prepare them and to season them with spices”, revealed Eulises.
