Education is so much more than an opportunity to go to school; it is an opportunity to determine the outcome of one’s future, to establish a voice within and outside of one’s community, and to dream beyond the limits of one’s circumstances. But around the world, too many children—especially girls—are still not getting the quality education they deserve.
Education for girls in the slums of Ghana is Achievers Ghana's project to ensure girls in the slums have the opportunity to go to school and excel in life.
In April this year, The project raised $1000 from a single donor and not meeting the tarhet of $5000. This amount of $1000 was able to take care of educational expense of 10 slum girls. In June, the project raised a little bit over $1000 and that amount will be used to take care of educational expenses of additional 10 slum girls. This means the target of 350 girls in school has not yet been met. Only 20 slum girls will enjoy the $2000 that was raised leaving 330 girls.
This requires that enough funds need to be raised to support the remaining 330 girls who are waiting to be salvaged by this project.
