This report provides a brief overview of self-employment initiatives aimed at empowering persons with disabilities in Pakistan. The focus is on efforts to enhance economic opportunities, foster independence, and promote inclusivity within the entrepreneurial landscape. NDF in collaboration of funds generated through GlobalGiving has implemented various programs to support self-employment among persons with disabilities. This includes financial assistance, training programs, and incentives for entrepreneurs with disabilities to establish and grow their businesses. Efforts have been made to make entrepreneurial resources more accessible. This includes creating materials in accessible formats, providing sign language interpreters during training sessions, and ensuring that physical spaces are wheelchair-friendly. Several success stories have emerged from self-employment initiatives. Individuals with disabilities have successfully established businesses in diverse sectors, including IT, handicrafts, and services. These success stories serve as inspiration and demonstrate the potential of persons with disabilities as successful entrepreneurs.
