Excited students, energized teachers and staff. That is what your generous donation resulted in as the students returned to class at the Barrio San Pablo school in Chisec, Guatemala in early February of this year. The majority of the original, government-provided desks were unusable and occupied an unused room at the school, and most students had been using handmade or cobbled-together desks for years. But now they have 154 brand-new desks which are safer and more comfortable and more learning conducive. And the teachers have 5 quality hexagonal tables with chairs on which to organize their work and lessons, or have groups of students collaborate on learning activities. There is a real excitement for learning and the future at this school, which serves the indigenous population in rural Guatemala.
