The academic year for Thai students begins in May and ends the following March. This month we have been busy helping 86 students ranging for Grade 1 to through to university level get ready to start the new academic year.
Our students come from the poor communities in the local area in and around Pattaya and some of them are the first literate members of their families. We have an adult school program for students aged 12- 59 years old. These students due to poverty, neglect or abuse have never had the opportunity to learn to read and write and this program enables them to begin with learning to read and write and continues to grade 12 level.
Our scholarship program is comprehensive as it includes the cost of all school books, uniforms, stationary supplies, transport and food. On May 2nd our students came together for a beginning of the year celebrations feeling great in their new uniforms.
The foundation is diligent in following up with the teachers and school administrators to ensure the students are attending school and also identifying early any issues the student maybe facing.
Sponsors receive an update on their student in May, November and the following March. If you have a sponsored student your update is coming soon. If you would like to sponsor a student please contact us as we still have many children who need a sponsor.
