60 Students, One Brighter Future!

By Jessica Chilver | Manager

Our students are now approaching the halfway point of the academic year. This year, we are supporting 60 students through our scholarship programme, from preschool and primary school through to vocational college, university and adult education.

Many of our students come from disadvantaged communities in and around Pattaya. Poverty and difficult family circumstances can make it extremely hard for them to stay in education. Some have experienced neglect or abuse, while several of our adult students never had the chance to learn to read and write when they were younger. Some are now the first members of their families to become literate.

Our scholarships cover more than school fees. They also help provide uniforms, books, stationery, transportation and food. Throughout the year, our team stays in contact with students, families and teachers so that we can monitor attendance, recognise problems early and offer support when it is needed.

Recently, some of our students joined students from the Bang Lamung District Learning Encouragement Center for a day of learning and community activities. It was lovely to see everyone getting involved, working together and contributing to their community.

Our adult school students are also required to take part in community service training as part of their education. Their recent project gave them the opportunity to learn, work as a team and serve others and they had plenty of fun along the way!

The cost of education continues to be a challenge for the families we support. Donations towards school fees, uniforms, learning materials, transportation and food make a real difference. Support for our vocational and university students is especially important, as their educational costs are often higher.

Thank you for helping our students stay in education and giving them the opportunity to build a more hopeful future.
