It's Kitten Season All the Time!

By Samantha Steffens | Executive Director

Friends,

These days, it seems there really isn’t a “kitten season” as there used to be in the spring months.  Sadly, there are new litters born monthly in every season now.  We know the importance of having our pets spayed or neutered, but it’s even more critical for community cats, who have no network of support and care.

That’s why we are so grateful to continue our support for the ongoing spay and neuter program in central North Carolina that focuses on these cats who so badly need our help.  Our goal for this year is 1,000 cats treated, which will reduce the number of kittens by the thousands (literally).  Many community cat colonies can be found in the more rural parts of our state where our program is active.  We will continue to work with our TNR partners to locate them and to get as many cats spayed or neutered as possible and to treat any injuries or conditions the cats arrive with.  We are committed to the cats’ immediate relief from pain and suffering as well as in their future relief.

Your part in this important work cannot be underestimated!  You, along with our TNR volunteers, our vet and all those who directly care for the cats, make this successful effort keep working.  With more than 19,000 cats spayed or neutered in the last decade, this partnership continues to save lives. We thank you so very much!

Samantha
