Despite the financial challenges we have faced during this period and not having received the level of donations needed to fully meet our goals, Fundación Estrellita de Belén has continued its mission without pause. Our commitment to children with congenital heart disease (CHD) remains unwavering, and our work continues thanks to determination, strategic partnerships, and the generosity of supporters who believe in saving lives.

Continued Medical Support for Children in Venezuela

We are still actively working to support children with congenital heart disease in Venezuela, where access to specialized cardiac care remains extremely limited. Even with constrained resources, we have continued to provide essential medical treatments, diagnostic support, medications, and life-saving interventions whenever possible. Each child we assist represents a life given a chance and a family given hope.

Commitment Beyond Funding Challenges

While funding limitations have required us to operate carefully and prioritize urgent cases, they have not stopped our mission. Our team continues to advocate for children who would otherwise have no access to care, working closely with medical professionals and local partners to maximize every resource available.

Awareness and Education Programs

In addition to direct medical support, we are actively developing awareness and education programs focused on congenital heart disease (CHD). These initiatives are designed to empower parents and families with knowledge—helping them understand CHD, recognize warning signs early, and navigate the healthcare system more effectively. Education is a critical tool for prevention, early diagnosis, and long-term survival.

Update: Urgent Heart Care for Venezuela

Because of your generosity and the support of GlobalGiving and the Simon Bolivar Foundation, children in Venezuela with congenital heart disease are receiving the urgent care they need to survive and thrive.

What You Made Possible

Life-saving procedures: More than 10 ablations, several therapeutic catheterizations, and emergency valvuloplasties for newborns—including a baby just 20 days old who is now thriving.
Essential medical aid: Shipments of medicines, baby formula, and equipment like Holter monitors and oximeters.
Access to care: Over 100 cardiology appointments provided in the last two months alone.
