Hi Dolphin, Whale & Ocean Lovers,
It was over 9 years ago that our international spokesperson and star of ABC's hit series "Nashville", Hayden Panettiere, put her life on the line by paddling into the blood filled waters of Taiji's notorious dolphin killing cove and was accosted by the dolphin fisherman causing an international media frenzy which helped raise awareness to this cruel and needless slaughter.
Japan Update
Our founder, Jeff Pantukhoff, is continuing our ongoing efforts to stop the slaughter of dolphins and whales there but unfortunately, the dolphin killing by Japanese fisherman still continues in Taiji and the Japanese Government sent its whaling fleet to the Southern Ocean Whale Sanctuary slaughtering 333 minke whales this winter.
We will be returning to Japan this year so we need your help and support now more than ever to help us stop the needless and senseless killing of dolphins and whale so please consider helping our cause making a donation or buying our eco-friendly merchandise tht make great gifts for the Holidays!
You can choose from our ever popular Whaleman t-shirts, eco-friendly reusable shopping bags and stainless steel water bottles, and other popular items from our merchandise page.
All proceeds go to our Save the Whales Again! campaign so please check out our other updates below to see how we are putting your generosity towards saving dolphins, whales, and our oceans.
Iceland Update
Iceland will not kill any endangered fin whales this summer!
Last summer, Iceland killed over 150 endangered fin whales even though President Obama had certified Iceland under the Pelly Amendment and used diplomatic pressure to try to stop Iceland from killing whales.
This summer, Iceland has announced that is not going to kill any endangered fin whales!
This is great news but at this point we are not sure if it is just a temporary halt or permanent so we will continue to monitor the situation closely and keep you informed.
Norway Update
Norway continues to defy the commercial moratorium on whaling killing over 650 minke whales last summer and has set its 2016 quota to over 1,200 minke whales.
Minke whales are the smallest of the great whales and are very beautiful and intelligent creatures who are also very curious and interactive with human divers. Norway, like Iceland, believes that no one cares about their illegal whaling activities but we have news for them: We do! Norway killed over 650 minke whales last summer and we are currently planning events to shine the spotlight on Norway as well so we need your help and support now more than ever.
All of us here are committed to doing everything we can to help Save the Whales Again! We thank you all for your continuing support and wish you and yours all the best for the holiday season and ask you to please donate what you can to help us!
Sincerely,
Hayden Panettiere

This past summer, Iceland killed over 150 endangered fin whales even though President Obama had certified Iceland under the Pelly Amendment and used diplomatic pressure to try to stop Iceland from killing whales.
Next summer, Iceland plans on killing another 150 endangered fin whales!
Since diplomacy is not working, we are working closely with the President's Administration calling on them to use economic sanctions on Iceland until it ceases whaling.
Also, we are helping with a new documentary film that will put the spotlight on Iceland and we need your help and support now more than ever to ensure our success.

As I write this, I am in Portoroz, Slovenia, attending the International Whaling Commission (IWC) Meeting. This is the 15th meeting of the IWC that I've attended since founding Whaleman 20 years ago and we need your help now more than ever!
Both Norway and Iceland have upped their whaling quotas for next year and Japan is planning a return to whaling in the Southern Ocean as well so we are planning several actions in response but we can't do it without your financial support!
Currently, eBay is hosting our 20th anniversary charity auction and there are several items that are very near and dear to my heart that I would like you to consider bidding on to help support our cause!
The first items are 2 of my international award winning photos that I've reproduced on metal and I'm offering only 20 of these 30" x 40" signed and numbered artists proofs to commemorate our 20th anniversary.
The first is of a breaching humpback whale off of Maui which I call "Enchanted". The second is of three spotted dolphins, a baby and 2 adults, which I call "Family Portrait".
These prints are retailing for over $3,000 but I've put #1/20 of each print into the auction starting at just $975 so here's a chance to get #1 of each at a potential bargain price!
One of my personal favorite environmental heroes is Robert Redford who was one of the first celebrities to lend his face and name to environmental causes that he was deeply passionate about and I have one of his rare signed photographs in our charity auction at a starting bid of just $350 making this quite the bargain indeed!
Another of my favorites is music legend Neil Young! Neil actually donated the use of his 100' schooner "Ragan" to me to use for my humpback whale research in both Alaska and Maui and now here's your chance to get to see him perform live with Willie Nelson at their upcoming concert in Nebraska to help try to stop the Keystone Pipeline from being built. Bid to get 2 VIP tickets and backstage passes to see them perform together for the first time in 20 years and meet me backstage! I can't wait for this once-in- a lifetime event!
The last item I'm going to tell you about is my very favorite item in the entire auction. It is the personalized Whaleman T-shirt worn by our spokesperson and my personal hero, Hayden Panettiere, at the killing cove in Taiji Japan. Hayden has been helping me since she was just 15 and when she was 18, I took her to Taiji and she risked her life that day by paddling out into blood-filled waters to try to save pilot whales that were being slaughtered by Japanese fisherman.
Hayden wrote a dedication on the shirt and signed it and gave it to me and I framed it with photos taken of her that day making this the most unique collectible and truly only one-of-a-kind item that is available in our auction so please consider bidding on it to help us save dolphins whales and our oceans!
Please check out these and all the other amazing items at eBay.com/whaleman.
There are other ways you can help if bidding in auctions is not your thing. You can purchase our eco-friendly merchandise or you can choose to make a donation!
Every penny counts! 100% of our donations and proceeds from the eBay auction goes directly to The Whaleman Foundation and our Save the Whales Again Campaign!
Thanks to you and your generous support, we are making a difference in our world!!
Sincerely,
Jeff Pantukhoff
