Japan Update
Japan left the International Whaling Commission on July 1, 2018 and is now commercial whaling. Last year the Japanese whaling fleet killed 202 endangered Bryde's Whales and Sei Whales and 171 Minke Whales.
In 2021, Japanese whalers are killing a total of 383 whales including 171 minke whales, 187 Bryde's whales and 25 endangered Sei whales.
Japan is a rougue commercial whaling nation and we need your help to stop them.
Iceland Update
Great News! Iceland did not kill any whales this year which makes two years in a row they have not killed any whales. They have not yet announced their plans for 2022. We hope this whaling ban becomes permanent. We will continue to monitor this situation and will update you if there are any changes.
Norway Update
The Norwegian whaling season closed on September 27th with whalers killing 575 minke whales. Norway continues to defy the commercial moratorium on whaling even though there is no real demand for whale meat in their country. They plan to kill over 600 whales in 2022.
All of us here are committed to doing everything we can to help Save the Whales Again!
We thank you all for your continuing support and ask you to please donate what you can to help us!
Sincerely,
