Japan Update

Japanese dolphin hunters started their brutal dolphin hunts on September 1, 2023 in Taiji, Japan and these hunts will continue until mid April, 2024. The quota allows for up to 2,000 dolphins to be killed and captured including bottlenose dolphins. Last year the dolphin hunters killed 498 dolphins and captured 65 for marine parks.

Japanese whalers left port to start their whaling season on April 1, 2023 with the whaling season ending this December. This year Japanese whalers killed a total of 383 whales including 171 minke whales, 187 Bryde's whales and 25 endangered Sei whales.

Japan is a rougue commercial whaling nation and dolphin killing country and we need your help to stop them.

Iceland Update

After a 3 year hiatus, Iceland is killing endangered fin whales again. In 2023 Icelandic whalers slaughtered 148 endangered fin whales illegally exported the meat to Japan. We will be pressing Iceland's government to end these cruel and needless hunts.  

Norway Update

Norwegian whalers killed 580 minke whales last year and will be whaling again this summer. Norway continues to defy the commercial moratorium on whaling even though there is no real demand for whale meat in their country.

It’s been a tragic and devastating week in Lahaina. I'm Jeff Pantukhoff, the president and founder of The Whaleman Foundation and Executive Director of the Save the Whales Again! Campaign. I've lost my Maui home and headquarters for both The Whaleman Foundation and our Save the Whales Again! Campaign which was a beautiful two bedroom, two bathroom condo nestled in what once was the beautiful and tropical community of Aina Nalu located just two blocks off of Front Street. The aerial photo shows what's left of the 190 condos including mine which were all burnt to the ground along with most of Lahaina. I'm safe and healthy back on the Mainland but I'm devastated, shocked and heartbroken. I know the world is aware of the devastating fires that have burned down our beautiful Lahaina town. Many Lahaina residents have perished and lost everything so I'm very grateful to be alive but there are no words to describe the sorrow I feel for the loss of my home there. I’m doing this fundraiser to benefit the Save the Whales Again! Campaign so we can continue our critical work to help save dolphins, whales, and our oceans. So please help to continue this critical work as we rebuild Lahaina and my Maui home. Any donation will help make an impact.
