What's New at Trees to the Sea?

Our 1.3 mile-long stretch of trees along Imperial Highway has survived yet another hot California summer. With the help of donors like you and partners like Alcoa we are now going to be able to address the long-standing issue of broken irrigation along Trees to the Sea. We will also be removing 7 tons of waste including invasives, recyclables and trash from the median and putting down a fresh layer of mulch, all between now and the end of December.

Tree Care Teams!

Tree Musketeers has added a new way for volunteers to get involved. Any large group of volunteers that wants to be trained on tree care in order to volunteer at our tree sites on an independent basis can now sign up to do just that. Each group schedules a date to be trained, we provide the tools and show you the ropes. Boy Scout Troop 0762, lead by Tarcis V., has conducted multiple tree care gatherings on their own as part of a service project and will be helping us out for the next couple of months.

If you or someone you know has a service group, fraternity/sorority, scout troop or group of employees that would like to be trained as volunteers to work along Trees to the Sea let us know! You can contact our volunteer manager Charming Yu at 310-322-0263 or email volunteers@treemusketeers.org.

What is up next for Trees to the Sea?

We have our 4th Annual Make a Difference Day coming up in late October. Keep an eye on your inbox to see what we have in store for this year. In the meantime here is a bit of a preview. Our youth Management Team laid out our goals for this year's event and we have our sights set on increasing our number of volunteers as well as bags of litter and invasives removed from the median. We have also added a drawing to this year's event. Those who purchase raffle tickets will get a chance to win some great prizes!

As always, thank you for your continued support as we put your dollars to work saving our Trees to the Sea. We hope to see you at Make a Difference Day 2016!
