This project will provide safe water for 2500 children in Argentina who attend rural schools, through a correct diagnosis of the quality of the water and the land, the incorporation of rainwater harvesting systems and filters, education on health and hygiene for students, teachers, and the local community, to generate a better living condition and a healthier future for Argentine children and rural communities.
Argentina is one of the countries with the highest contamination of groundwater by arsenic and, in some rural areas, the water deficit increases the risks that the consumption of contaminated water brings. Children are the population most vulnerable to the impact on the health of the consumption of poor quality water and not having clean water in their schools exposes them even more to this contamination.
Economically and ecologically sustainable access to drinking water solution is through the harvesting of rainwater. It's also most appropriate to eradicate the consumption of water contaminated by arsenic and to implement it in the aridest areas. Building this solution in rural schools will solve the demand for safe water for the children and teachers attending these schools. In addition, we'll accompany with training in good practices, health, and the maintenance of the installed infrastructure
Rural schools function as a community center that brings together families. Having drinking water in these centers will ensure a better living condition for the children and the healthy consumption and nutrition of the people in the community.
