At Tekelbei Foundation, our work to ensure access to safe drinking water continues, even as we face limited resources. While we haven’t yet received direct donations for this initiative, we’re not standing still. We’re reaching out to local government bodies, sending grant proposals, attending networking events, and running a fundraiser on GlobalGiving to build support.
Most importantly, we’ve been listening to the communities we serve. In recent weeks, we’ve had many conversations with residents about the challenges they face in getting clean water. A common message has come through clearly: people need water tanks. The region is dry, and when it finally rains, there’s no way to capture and store that water and so it goes to waste. Instead, people, including the elderly, often walk long distances just to fetch water for daily use.
This reality became even more evident during our Donate a Blanket to the Elderly campaign on 12th July 2025, thanks to the donations raised on this platform. While delivering blankets, we saw how deeply the water crisis affects people; especially older community members who struggle with both the cold and the long, tiring walks to find water. The visits reminded us that clean water isn’t just a health issue, it’s a dignity issue.
We’re committed to this work, but we can’t do it alone. If you believe, like we do, that access to clean water should never be a privilege, we’d love your support andwhether that’s through a donation, sharing our story, or simply reaching out with encouragement. Every small gesture helps move us closer to a future where no one has to go without this basic need.
Warm regards,
