Our five Libraries and 12 book banks continue to provide services to the youth by providing academic & reference books. Also in all the libraries the students are allowed to use the computers and Internet facilities for their academic research purposes. On an average 2000 students access our libraries and book banks every month. More than 1000 students utilize the Computer facilities available in all our library branches.
During the month of September our focus was on to conduct skill workshops to the students on some of the softskills.
On 8th Sep - Workshop on Goal setting and motivation was conducted by Mr. Praveen Gudi in Lions Sabhabhavana, Lions School Sirsi. 120 students from various education institutions and classes attended the workshop. The workshop lasted for 2hours 30 minutes. We have received positive feedbacks from the participants.
On 16th Sep Workshop on "Defence Service Career & Opportunities" for college students was conducted by Brigadiar S.G.Bhawat a reputed resource person was conducted. 90+ students actively participated and made best use of the session.
On 22nd Sep Organized Personality Development session by Dr. N.M Bennur Professor S.T.C Arts & Commerce College Banhatti. 49 students attended the workshop and made it a grand success by active participation.
On 29th Sep We have conducted workshop at BT Seminar Hall, BVB College, Hubli on "Personality development" for college students. 100+ students actively participated and take the best use of the workshop. Smt. Sandhya Kulkarni a reputed resource person engaged the workshop. We have positive feedback from the students.
Overall 360 students were trained through one days workshops in the month of Sep 2019 in all our Libraries
Library Services Updates

Vidya Poshak encourages the scholars to involve them in social leadership and giveback programs, every month on a Sunday the youth volunteers engage themselves in different programs. Following are some highlights of the programs during this quarter.
On 21st June’19, Yoga Day was celebrated by youth volunteers in Dharwad. The youth volunteers spent quality time with elders by doing various activities like Yoga, songs, drama, poetry and interaction with elders. The students showed their talents and bring smiles on the senior citizens.
On 21st June 2019 the Youth volunteers of Hubli organized Plantation and Yoga program at near Hubli. Our volunteers donated 100 saplings and were planted.
On 25th June as part of the Youth program Vidya Poshak scholars from Sirsi visited differently abled children’s school. The students spent the time with the children during the day by engaging in different activities. They also handed over a carom board , Sketch pens and sweets to the children in the institution.
Vidya Poshak knowledge resource centers have been catering to the needs of Vidya Poshak as well as Non- Vidya Poshak student beneficiaries. Through the KRC a space is provided for the youth who can access academic books, Books for competitive examinations, internet and also participate in various workshops on soft skills. Counselling sessions are also held for the needy at these centers.
Access to Academic & Reference Books
Free Text/competitive books are lent to all the students through libraries and book bank centers located in different parts of area of VP’s operation. Students can take home academic text books for a year and return the same at the end of the year so that the same books are put in circulation.

Skill Workshops
Dear well wishers
Our hearty gratitude for your continued support in our endeavor of empowering the educational community. We are on the verge of completing 18 years of existence. During the calendar year 2018 we continued to engage college students through our flagship Nurture Merit Program. We also had programs made for high school children. The initiative to Nurture the Non-academic talent in selected fields is gaining momentum.
The following services are being provided to students through our five KRCs located at Hubballi, Sirsi, Belagavi, Davanagere & Vijayapur.
Access to Books: The student community could access 28,000 books which included academic as well as those related to cracking cooperative examinations.
Computer and Internet: The students were also provided computer and internet facility. The student could practice and operate various Programing languages and also able to use for researching for academic requirements.
SDP workshops: 12 Skill Development workshops and career counseling sessions were conducted with the help of experts through which more than 600 students reaped benefits.
Social Activities: During the quarter three social activity programs were organized, which included planting trees, sanitation campaigns, visit to old age homes, orphanages and physically/mentally challenged student institutions. The student volunteers and senior volunteers took part in these activities.
