Thank you for your generous donation to the Rohingya Refugee Relief Fund. Your generosity is providing access to life-saving services for Rohingya refugees at a time when communities are confronting serious risks, including devastating fires, reduced food assistance, and difficult journeys across seas.

Most recently, GlobalGiving made four grants to high-impact and community-led nonprofit organizations at the forefront of this crisis.

Here is a short description of some of the critical work you’ve supported:

  • HOPE Foundation for Women & Children of Bangladesh is providing critical healthcare services through its field hospital and maternity clinics in Bangladeshi camps. One of its clinics burned down in the fire in early March. Despite this, the organization’s emergency response team responded immediately to help hundreds of Rohingya men, women, and children.
  • Yayasan Dompet Dhuafa Republika is a partner in Indonesia where Rohingya refugees continue to arrive by boat in dangerous conditions. The foundation is providing food packages to refugees and offers access to healthcare services and hygiene kits.
  • OBAT Helpers is working with partners to provide a range of services to Rohingya refugees on mainland Bangladesh and Bhasan Char island. These services include learning centers, livelihood projects, health programs, and food programs during the upcoming month of Ramadan.

Your support of the Rohingya Refugee Relief Fund powers community-led responses. It means partners like the HOPE Foundation get the critical resources they need to help rebuild after the recent devastating fire in Cox’s Bazar. Without durable solutions to this displacement crisis, your support will continue to be critical. We will continue to make grants from this fund; please consider continuing your support.

With gratitude,

Sarah Rahman + The GlobalGiving Team

About GlobalGiving’s Disaster Response

When a disaster strikes, recovery efforts led by people who live and work in affected communities are often overlooked and underfunded. GlobalGiving is changing this reality. Since 2004, we've been shifting decision-making power to crises-affected communities through trust-based grantmaking and support.

We make it easy, quick, and safe to support people on the ground who understand needs in their communities better than anyone else.

They were there long before the news cameras arrived, and they’ll be there long after the cameras leave. They know how to make their communities more resilient to future disasters, and they’re already hard at work. GlobalGiving puts donations and grants directly into their hands. Because the status quo—which gives the vast majority of funding to a few large organizations—doesn’t make sense.
