The Amani Transformational Foundation's (ATF) Rise and Thrive project aims to empower out of school youth. The main objective is to economically empower teenage girls, young mothers and young men to improve their quality of life by providing Life-skills that can lead to self-employment.

Specific objectives iclude:

1. To build capacity of clients in various crafts, offering entrepreneurship opportunities for financial independence, boost confidence and self -worth.

2. To support advancement towards sustainable livelihoods for themselves and their families, leading to self-reliance and reduced poverty.

During the reporting period ATF volunteers achieved the following:

A safe space for girls and teenage mothers was established to enable them share experiences and challenges. This increased awareness of what opportunities they could take up and increased levels of knowledge on sexual reproductive health and rights. The project fostered a sense of community and solidarity among program participants. Through the program implementation, adolescent girls and teenage mothers are able to share their challenges and learn new and better ways of making decisions for themselves. In addition, two girls were identified through a transparent process to participate in a 6 month life-skills training. This will involve training in tailoring, soap making and hair dressing. A further three (3) girls have been encouraged to return to school. This has been possible due to engagement with different stakeholders on the importance of girl child education.
