This transformative project is designed to equip young people with essential life skills and entrepreneurial knowledge to help them succeed personally, academically, and professionally. The project aims to foster the growth of resilient, self-reliant young people capable of navigating challenges, seizing opportunities, and contributing meaningfully to society. The focus will be on hands-on development of practical life skills, entrepreneurial mindset, leadership qualities and financial literacy.
Many young people in Adjumani and Moyo districts do not progress with education past primary and/or secondary school thus missing the opportunity to get into the job market or gain skills that would enable them to make a living. As a result many youth are idle, disgruntled and engage in antisocial behaviour despite both districts having large amounts of fertile communal land that offers opprtunities for activities like agriculture.
The project will youth with critical life skills, including time management, emotional intelligence, stress management, and decision-making and foster an entrepreneurial mindset by teaching participants to identify business opportunities, think creatively, and develop innovative solutions. Youth will be equipped with financial knowledge, including budgeting, savings, investment, while they will practice public speaking, networking, teamwork, and leadership skills.
Out-of-school youth in the two districts will identify their areas of passion and become productive members of society, contributing to development in their respective districts.
