Summary

This project will help 40 children in the Vinnytsia region of Ukraine who have been affected by the war and experienced shelling, evacuation, and the loss of their homes or loved ones to restore their mental health. Through art activities as a form of art therapy and professional psychological support, children will reduce anxiety and social isolation, improve their emotional well-being, and strengthen relationships within their families.

Challenge

The war in Ukraine has forced millions to flee their homes. Among them are 25,000 children aged 8-13 in the Vinnytsia region who have experienced shelling, evacuation, and the loss of their homes and loved ones. State and local services lack sufficient resources to provide basic and psychosocial support. This project helps children in Vinnytsia overcome chronic stress and isolation through art therapy and professional psychological counseling, building on the foundation's proven experience.

Solution

The project combines art therapy with professional psychological support. Children attend art classes twice a week and receive group and individual counseling 1-2 times per week. Each month, the program supports 20 children and 5-10 parents. It reduces anxiety, overcomes isolation, builds self-regulation skills, restores emotional balance, and improves family relationships. The foundation successfully implemented a similar project in 2022.

Long-Term Impact

The project will support 40 war-affected children, helping them restore emotional stability, a sense of safety, and trust in the world. Ongoing psychological support improves family relationships and builds self-regulation skills, reducing long-term trauma risks. In the long run, this strengthens children's social integration and resilience. Children's artworks will be shared at charity events to support project sustainability and community engagement.
