In May 2026, we completed the first stage of our psychosocial support program for children who had lost their homes because of the war. Eight children between the ages of 8 and 13 completed a series of five creative sessions, created their own paintings, and had a safe space for creativity, communication, and new friendships. We were able to implement this part of the program thanks to the support of our partners and the Foundation's own resources.
We had planned to expand the program to reach 40 children, but the project did not raise the funding needed through GlobalGiving. Rather than continue a separate program in a limited format, we decided to use what we learned to develop a more comprehensive model of psychosocial support.
Beginning in the summer of 2026, this experience became the foundation for a new direction in our work with young people. We expanded the creative activities to include art therapy, emotional intelligence development, and professional support from psychologists and specialists in constructive communication and conflict resolution. This new program is now presented on GlobalGiving as a separate project, and we will report on its progress and results separately.
Today, we are closing this project with gratitude. It did not reach the planned goal of serving 40 children, but it provided valuable practical experience for our team. Eight children received support and created eight paintings, and we saw how creativity can help children gradually open up, connect with others, and feel part of a community again. We are carrying these lessons forward into the next stage of our work.
