As we are sure many of you are aware, the Big Island of Hawai'i is experiencing on-going eruptions from the Kilauea volcano. Therefore, we are pausing this fundraiser due to the current situation that has affected so many operations on the Big Island and created emergency conditions for area residents and institutions.
As we learn more about the future of our area and what the Puna District will look like once the eruptions have halted, we will look forward to sending all of you updates on our plans.
Mahalo nui loa for your contributions towards protecting Hawaii's lowland forest, and please keep the island of Hawai'i and the residents of Puna in your thoughts.
We are writing from Brazil, where we kicked off the 2018 planting season with 2,500 fruit trees for families and students in Mococa, Sao Paolo!
Also in store this season are projects in Uganda, Arizona, El Salvador, Guatemala, New York City, Pittsburgh, Minnesota Reservations, Miami, Houston, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Peru, and we will wrap up the year with our first orchard plantings on the Big Island of Hawai'i.
Thank you for all your support, and we will keep sending you updates from the field as we continue putting happy, healthy new fruit trees in the ground.
Mahalo nui loa for your support and we look forward to seeing you soon in Hawai'i :)
