Welcome to our first Project Report of 2020!
After the challenges of 2019 we want to make this year our best yet - and we have lots of plans to make that happen!
As well as the repair and improvement work going on at our animal hospital since the monsoon floods, we also have other building plans in the pipeline. Firstly, we want to build a Puppy Isolation Unit to keep infectious puppies away from the general population to limit the spread of disease. We also plan to create our Laboratory and equip it so that we can take x-rays and blood samples to improve our diagnoses and treatment plans. Finally, we want to improve our laundry area and install an industrial washing machine to deal with the large number of soiled blankets and bedding we need to wash and dry every day.
These things will all improve the running of our Rescue & Care Project and are made possible through your continued support.
I thought you'd like to meet a few of our patients who are currently under treatment here at TOLFA.
This ginger kitten is about three months old and was admitted with a nasty wound on his back leg. He is receiving meds and pain relief as well as daily dressings to the wound. He’s a very friendly and sweet chap and we hope that he will be adopted when he is fully better.
Mary is a delicate and skittish older puppy who spent a long time in our quarantine kennels fighting hepatitis. She also had a wound to her front paw which has left her with a slight deformity. Recovered from the hepatitis she is now spending time in our puppy yard to socialise and play. She is very sweet and we’re sure she will be rehomed as soon as she is ready.
This older male dog was brought into the hospital after being hit by a car in Ajmer. He is spending time in our ‘L’ kennels which are for dogs that need that bit of extra special care. His badly injured back leg has been amputated and he’s getting used to life as a ‘three-wheeler’. Today he is just enjoying spending some time in the warm sunshine (it gets very cold at night during the winter here).
These are just some of the animals that your donation has helped. Thank you, and let’s save more lives in 2020!
