Rescuing and teaching

Sabinito Owl rescue
Sabinito Owl rescue

This time we want to tell you about new adventures, challenges and achievements. One of the biggest challenges is to educate and sensitize people, so we have made efforts by giving talks and receiving specimens from individuals who have made a great effort to bring them to receive care and give them a chance.  It has been wonderful to see how people care about them and bring them to our rescue center. For our team there have been many challenges as our space is limited, however, we strive to care for them. Here we describe some of the stories and cases:

SABINITO OWL
An adult male Owl was hit by the air blast generated by vehicles on the road, which caused a multiple fracture in one wing (3 parts). Rescued by a family who saw him lying on the road, he was transferred to TIVU for examination. He was received in shock because of the pain, we gave him attention and care, he was stabilized to prepare him with the intention of making the correction of the fracture. He has just had the surgical pins removed and is in the process of rehabilitation.

JULIET FALCON

Bat Falcon juvenile female was found in a field perched on a bush making short and erratic flights, was rescued and sent her to TIVU. When reviewing her, we found that the feathers of one wing were cut, so she requires a year to molt and have its feathers complete to be able to fly and exercise in order to be rehabilitated and released.

AWARENESS ACTIVITIES

We energetically participated in talks at universities, environmental festivals and received groups of students informing them about the damaged of illegal species trafficking.

YELLOW-NAPED PARROTS

Joining efforts with different institutions we are making efforts to protect the yellow-naped parrot in this breeding season, where traffickers steal the chicks from the nests. Working with the communities is fundamental to reduce trafficking.

With each animal we receive we have great challenges that require great efforts and financial resources to continue. We need a space to rehabilitate, modern technology and equipment, as well as supplies that are not easy to acquire. That is why your donation IS VERY IMPORTANT. For the life of the Planet, THANK YOU FOR YOUR GENEROUS CONTRIBUTION!!!
