Reproductive health for Metro Manila's young women

Through your generous support, 153 young women have received free contraceptive implant services, each one gaining greater control over her health and future. 

One of them is Bai, a 23-year-old mother of two from Cotabato City, with both children born at home and a household income of just USD83 to USD165 a month from her partner's salary as a laborer, access to contraceptives has always been difficult and inconsistent. She previously relied on injectable contraception, but this was often interrupted by cost issues and limited availability. 

Through this project, Bai was able to receive a contraceptive implant at no cost to her. 

For her, this means peace of mind—knowing she can care for her children without the added uncertainty of another unplanned pregnancy. 

With your continued support, more women like Bai can access safe, reliable contraceptive implants, creating healthier, more secure futures for themselves and their families.

It was January 17, 2025 when we posted our first project as part of the GlobalGiving nonprofit community. We are pleased to share with you that, through your continued support, 111 young women from the slums and poor communities in Metro Manila have been provided with the contraceptive implants that they need.

Jessica,16, is among the young women that went to one of our clinics for contraceptive implant. Getting pregnant was not part of her plans, but because she and her boyfriend had limited information on contraceptives, she did not know she was pregnant until she was six months into her pregnancy. After her delivery, she wanted to start using contraceptives, but she was warned that it would be risky. It was only when her baby was five months old that her mother accompanied Jessica to our clinic to get a contraceptive implant.

With your assistance, we hope that 2026 will give us the opportunity to sustain our work and have more young women achieve their reproductive needs so they can plan to continue their studies, find decent work, and have a better future for themselves and their family.
