Low-income families in Ghana may live in homes with leaking roofs, damaged walls, broken doors, unsafe floors and other housing problems. Many cannot afford essential repairs while meeting daily needs. Adjah Cancer Support Ghana aims to help 300 vulnerable families improve their living conditions through essential home repairs, depending on available funding and verified household needs.
Poor households often struggle to pay for repairs when their homes are damaged by heavy rains, ageing materials or general wear and tear. Leaking roofs, cracked walls, damaged floors and broken windows can expose families to harsh weather, insecurity and unhealthy living conditions. Children, older people and people with disabilities may face additional challenges in unsafe homes.
Adjah Cancer Support Ghana aims to identify 300 low-income families across selected communities in Ghana with urgent housing repair needs. Household assessments will help determine the most necessary repairs and prioritize families according to vulnerability and the condition of their homes. Depending on available funds, support may include repairing roofs, walls, floors, doors and windows and purchasing essential building materials.
The project aims to improve the safety, dignity and living conditions of 300 vulnerable families. Essential home repairs can help protect household members from harsh weather, improve privacy and security, and provide children and adults with safer places to live. Supporting families who cannot afford these repairs may also strengthen household stability and community wellbeing.
