In Syria, thousands of schools have been damaged, destroyed, or rendered non-operational due to confilict . This widespread destruction has deprived millions of children of access to safe and quality education. The intervention will focus on the physical restoration of classrooms, WASH facilities, playgrounds, school furniture, educational materials.
More than a decade of conflict in Syria has left devastating impacts on the education sector. Thousands of schools across the country have been damaged, destroyed, or rendered non-operational due to aerial bombardments, ground fighting, and military occupation. As a result, millions of children have been denied access to safe and quality education, contributing to high dropout rates, psychosocial distress, and limited future opportunities.
This project addresses the crisis in Syria's education sector by rehabilitating damaged and non-operational schools to restore safe and accessible learning environments for children. By repairing physical infrastructure such as classrooms, sanitation facilities, and essential utilities the project ensures that schools can reopen and function effectively.
This project holds the promise of transforming the future of thousands of Syrian children and their communities. By restoring damaged schools and creating safe, welcoming spaces for learning, it paves the way for more children to return to education and stay enrolled. As classrooms come back to life and teachers receive the support they need, students will benefit from improved learning conditions that foster not only academic growth but also vital life skills.
