Lets Bring The Smile To Magaya Primary Kids

To The Friend Of Magaya Primary

"Education is the backbone of community development, it brings innovation, it brings the resources and it restores and amplifies the voices of the community to demand for their rights'" the words from the Chairperson of Magaya Primary School Mrs Patricia Dzotso when we met in March 2016 to review progress on the construction of two classroom blocks at the school. In 2013 we started an important journey with you, the journey of constructing two classroom blocks with a total of four classes and four inside offices. With your contributions we have travelled the longest part of the journey. All the classrooms blocks are now complete with the only work remaining being flooring, inside plastering, painting and glazing.

As we celebrate this milestone, we remain touched, in their incomplete state the classrooms are already being used by grade Zeros and the grade Ones (1) students as the school has acute shortage of learning space. Mrs Wachipa the school head at the briefing meeting indicated that they were left with no option but to start using the classrooms in their incomplete state as the school lacks the financial resources to complement the effort of Rozaria Memorial Trust and its partners. The school enrolment has gone down in the past years thereby greatly affecting the cash-flow at the school and the problem is further worsened by the fact that the remaining students are failing to pay their school fees. She said “We are pleading with friends and other development partners that they join hands with us to see us complete this journey, it pains that we are stuck at the very end. Let’s bring a smile to the faces of these kids'.

The Treasurer of Magaya School Development Committee, Mr Chamunorwa Njenje highlighted that for the completion of the journey to be a reality, the school needs US2500,00 to cater for cement and labour costs for flooring, painting and glazing.

It is important to complete this journey as we strive to provide the best learning environment for the students at Magaya Primary School, with this in mind we continue to look for your helping hand to make this come to fruition. We have moved the longest miles of journey together and we will be happy to have you with us until we reach the finishing line. Let’s bring the smile to Magaya Primary School kids.
