This report will highlight the progress made for November, December, January and February.
We received 100 families from the Democratic Republic of Congo. They were able to be given shelter and food. We are in the process of integrating them. In December, we provided a loan facility of KSH150000 to refugees in Nyamavilla, Kayole, to help them in their economic empowerment activities.
The government of Kenya destroyed houses in Nyama Villa, Kayole and its environs. some of the people affected include refugees who lost their belongings in the process. These affected individuals were provided with a stipend to start life elsewhere.
Challenges.
Due to limited funds, we are having challenges integrating new families who have arrived in Kenya due to ongoing conflicts in Congo.
Lack of proper documentation has also hindered access to financial services such as account opening for the refugees and asylum seekers who are members of TUSA.
