This project unites 21 villages in rural Nepal's Chaughare region to build a People's Team advocating for girls' rights. By empowering families and creating learning opportunities, we ensure every child-especially girls-has access to education. Together, little by little, we can break cycles of inequality and build a brighter, more equitable future.
Previously, villagers traveled long distances to district headquarters for public services. Although ward-level governments now exist, rural areas like Chaughare still lack strong community committees to address local issues. Without organized leadership, children's education-especially girls' rights-remains neglected, perpetuating inequality and limiting opportunities.
This project forms community committees in rural wards to address education issues, raise awareness, and improve service accessibility. By supporting monthly meetings, training volunteers, and providing resources like books and computers, families gain tools to prioritize schooling. These steps empower communities, ensuring children-especially girls-have better access to education and opportunities.
Committees can improve education access, strengthen local governance, empower communities, and enhance livelihoods, breaking cycles of poverty and illiteracy. (1) Improved Education Access - More children, especially girls, attend school. (2) Stronger Local Governance - Local committees address community needs. (3) Empowered Communities - Families advocate for equality. (4) Enhanced Livelihoods - Education leads to sustainable opportunities.
